Birds in the Sanctuary
Little Egret, Cattle Egret, Pied Kingfisher, Small Blue KingFisher, Black Capped KingFisher, Pond Heron, Reef Heron, Grey Heron, Night Heron, Little Stint, Sand Piper, Red Shrank, Red Wattle-Lapwing, Crow Pheasant, Flamingos, Sea Gulls, Purple Heron, Brahmini Kite, Open Bill Stork, Little Cormorant
Many other migrating birds from Europe and Australia reach this sanctuary for reproduction. It is estimated that 78,000 - 88,000 migrating birds build nests for reproduction. As per the recent census, 67 different water birds and 30 other birds are spotted here.
Water living animals Olive Ridley turtles lays eggs, Otter can be seen here. Monkeys, Mongoose, Jackals, wild cats, reptiles are commonly seen here.
