Temple is dedicated to Goddess Sakthi. In earlier days, this place was called by Loya which later transformed to Lova. This temple is surrounded by thick forest. This temple is of 300 yea old. Devotees used to offer prayers for Ganapati at Kailasagiri. 
As per the Legend, During Kruta Yuga, Mount Meru started growing bigger which affected Sun God Chariot path. Worried Sage approached Sage Agastya for the rescue. Agastya informed Meru that he was on Pilgrimage to South and asked him not grow till he returns. Sage Agastya created Pathala Ganga and offered prayers for Sun God. While Sage resting under the tree, Goddess Lalitha Ambika appeared in the Loya and told him that she was roaming in this forest to eradicate evils. Sage Agastya offered prayers and requested Goddess to stay at this place for human welfare. On his request Goddess self-manifested here Talpulamma.

Vemulawada Rajanna Temple History

This temple is dedicated to Lord Siva and the main deity is called by the name Raja Rajeshwara who resides here with his consort Raja Rajeshwari. Lord Raja Rajeshwara and Goddess Raja Rajaeswari appeared in the dreams of Raja Narendra and instructed on the temple location who later built the temple. This temple was built during the reign of Raja Narendra and installed Lord Siva in this temple. King Raja Narendra, the Great Grandson of Arjuna, got relieved from the curse of killing Sage's son by taking a holy dip in the temple tank, Dharmagundam. 
From the inscriptions, it is known that Vemulawada Chalukyas ruled this region by making this place as the capital during 750 AD and 973 AD. This temple received huge contributions from Chalukyas.

Chembra Peak

Good for trekking. It is the highest peak point in this region and is 2100 mt above the sea level. Special permission required from DTPC Wayanad. It takes one complete day to reach top and bottom. This peak falls on the south of Wayanad and is close to Meppadi. The lake on the top is of Heart Shape.

Neelimala

Another trekking point located in Southeast of Wayanad. This place is reachable from Kalpetta and Sultan Bathery. Meenmutty falls is visible from this peak. It's the Right place for photography and sightseeing with greenery all around and valley in the foreground.

Meenmutty waterfalls

Meenmutty Falls is approachable from Kalpetta which is 29 km away. It is of three-layered and falls from a height of 290 mt. It is 2 km walk to reach the falls. The falls can be reached from Wayanad-Ooty road. It is advisable to visit falls during Winter or Summer season.

Banasura Sagar Dam

ThisHydro Electricity dam is located close to Karalad Lake and in the Southern part of Wayanad. Another interesting place for trekkers. Trekking is allowed to the peak of Banasura Sagar Dam. One can see islands in between which were formed due to the water levels in the reservoir. Boating is available at this place.

Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple

Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva. Temple is located in the foothills.   The "Bhoga Nandeeshwara" shrine located in the North was built during the reign of Banas in 9th Century AD, later renovated by Cholas in 11th century AD, Hoyasalas and Vijayanagara Emperors.

Haidar Ali started the fort construction later completed the work by Tippu Sultan. The fort called by Nandi Durga. The fort was built on 90 acres of land and is 4851 feet above the sea level.

Magadi Ranganathaswamy Temple History

As per the Legend, It is Sage Mandavya who installed Lord Paschima Venkatachalapathy and performed strict penance at this Kshetra. Hence the name, Mandavya Kshetra. The main deity in this temple is facing West, Hence the name Paschima Venkatchalapathy. Magadi is also called as Dakshina Tirupathi which means South Tirupathi.
It is said that Lord Ranganatha Swamy statue size is growing year by year, so the deity called by Beleyo RanganathaSwamy. Abhishekam performed to the Self-manifested Salagrama Sila will not be seen after Abhishekam. 
This temple was built during the reign of the King Rajendra Chola in the 12th century. Later, renovated during the reign of Vijayanagara dynasty. The present form of the temple was built by the King Kempe Gowda. Later Kempe Gowda I and II contributed towards the temple. Temple Gopuram was built in Dravidian style while the deity inside the temple reflects Vijayanagara Empire style.

Mallalli Falls located at the foot of the Pushpagiri hills. This fall was fed by the River Kumaradhara river and falls from a height of 200 ft. The fall from the height creates a scenic view. Water falls into a gorge surrounded by lush green mountains. It is the right place for trekkers with mesmerising beauty around. Best time to visit falls is during monsoon season during this time water flow will be high. Pushpagiri also called by Kumara Parvata on which the famous Kukke Subramanya temple is located.

Island at Shivasamudra splits the River Cauvery into two streams. River Cauvery falls from a height of 75 mt into a deep gorge and creates two streams Gaganachukki and the Bharachukki, which are 1 km apart. These two streams pass through the rocky hills and create a scenic beauty for the visitors.
View at Gaganachukki resembles a large horsetail which drops from a height of 90 mt. Hydroelectricity plant was established down the falls in the year 1906. Visitors are not allowed to go near the falls.
Barachukki which is 1 km apart falls from a height of 70 mt forming several streams through the wide rocky formations establishing superb natural beauty. Visitors will have the close view of the falls by Theppa (Boat). This falls surrounded by hill forests of the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary.

Bull Temple is popular by the name Dodda Basavana Gudi, where Dodda means Big in Kannada.This temple was built by the King Kempe Gowda in 1537 AD. Temple architecture reflects Dravidian style. Nandi vehicle for Lord Siva is of 4.5 mt in height and 6.5 mt in length.
As per the Legend, Bull used to graze on the groundnut fields daily. One day farmer saw the bull grazing on the fields and hit the bull. The bull then turned into the statue. The bull statue started growing large, to stop growing a trident was placed on the head. Farmer used to offer their first ground nuts crop every year and this festival called by the name Kadalekai Parishe. As per the Legend, During the Lord Siva and Paravati Devi Wedding, sages started gathering at Mount Kailash. Due to the mass gathering, North region went down and South region moved up. To balance the Earth, Lord Siva asked Sage Agasthya to stay at South so that it can be balanced. Sage Romasa disciple of Sage Agasthya expressed his wish to install Siva Lingas at this place. Sage Agasthya asked him to leave 9 Lotus flowers in the river Thamirabarani and install Siva Linga at the place where the Lotus touches the bank. Hence, Nine Siva Lingas were installed at Nine different Places by Sage Romasa as instructed by his master.

Papanasam Temple

Due to the heavy crowd of sages at Mount Kailash attending the wedding of Lord Shiva with Mother Parvathy, Earth lost its balance. Lord Shiva called Sage Agasthya to go to Pothigai Hills in the South and to balance the Earth level as his single weight was enough for the purpose equaling the weight of the millions of Rishis at Mount Kailash then.

As per the Legend, Lord Rama stayed with His consort and brother Lakshman at this place during their Vanavasam. Sage Bhadra performed strict penance for Lord Rama on the banks of River Godavari and requested Lord reside on top of his head. Impressed Rama promised the Sage that his wish will be fulfilled while on his way back with His consort Sita and left the place. Sage continued his penance as his wish was not fulfilled in Rama Avatar. Lord Vishnu appeared before the Sage in Rama Avatar with His consort Sita and Brother Lakshman. Hence the Utsava deity having Shanku (Conch) on his right hand. holding Chakra (Disc) on his left hand and Bow and arrow with the remaining two hands. Lord Rama self-manifested here with His consort Sita on his lap and Brother Lakshmana on top of Bhadra Hill. Hence, the place popular by the name Bhadrachalam.

Temple is one of the 18 Sakthi Peetas in India. As per legend, Prajapati Daksha daughter Sati Devi married Lord Siva. Prajapati had rivalry with Lord Siva and started acting against Siva. Daksha decided to perform Yajna and invited all Gods and Goddess, leaving Lord Siva. Sati visited her maternal house, though she was not invited. Daksha insulted Sati with his acts and words. Angered Sati immolated herself in the Yogagni. Angered Siva ordered Veerabadhra who took birth from his anger to kill Daksha. Veerabadhra along with Kali and other Siva Ganas destroyed Yagna and slayed Prapati Daksha. Lord Siva on collecting Sati's body performed Pralaya Thandavam. Lord Vishnu to stop the destruction destroyed Sati's body with his Disc. The disc broke the corpse into 18 pieces which fell across the Indian subcontinent. It is believed that Sati's eyes fallen here.

As per the Legend, Lord Indra Killed the demon Kartaba with the weapon (Vajrayudha) made out of Sage Dadichi's spinal cord. In revenge for his father's death, demons Pippala and Aswatha conducted a war. Sage Agasthya and others approached Saneswara for the defence. Sages offered their divine power to Shani Bhagawan. The battle between the demons and Shani went for a year and killed them at the end. Saneswara Bhagavan installed and worshipped Lord Siva to get rid of Brahma Hatya dosha.
It was mentioned in the Markandeya Purana that whoever performs Thailabhishekam for Siva at this temple will be relieved from Shani Dosha. Devotees used to perform Poojas for Nageswara Lingam to get rid of Naga Dosha. This Linga was installed and worshipped by the Serpent Karkotaka. Brahmeswara Lingam was installed by Lord Brahma. Sage Gouthama installed Venugopala Swamy as the Kshetra Palaka.
Shani Trayodasi, Masa Sivaratri and Maha Sivaratri will be celebrated in a grand. Devotees used to perform Abhishekam for Lord Siva with gingelly oil. Shani Trayodasi occurs twice in four months.
