Soumyanatha Swamy Temple Nandalur History

Sri Soumyanatha Swamy Temple Nandalur, which is at 2 mins walk from Town. This Temple resembles Chola culture and architecture and is built in 11th Century. This Temple spreads across 10 acres and is a popular Vaishnava site. There are inscriptions on Temple walls, which dates from 10th till 17th Century. This temple underwent renovations during this times of Pandyas, Kakatiyas and Vijayanagar dynasties. During Patiraja dynasty, this temple received the high prominence. As per inscriptions on the Temple walls, this temple holds 120 acres of agriculture lands, which is meant for the development and maintenance of temple activities.
